On Crime
Most people don’t commit crimes out of a strong sense of and adherence to a code of what is right and wrong. Others don’t care and commit crimes to further a self-interest or because of difficulties with self-control. Society can reduce crime through the imposition of laws against it. However, laws regarding crime need to be enforced in order to be effective. Otherwise, crime is effectively increased when consequences are not imposed.
On Gun Violence
Gun violence is a problem. However, it is the behavior of criminals who use guns in the commission of crimes which is the problem. Law abiding citizens trained in the proper use of firearms have actually saved lives.
